PAI Health: PAI App

—pai health: app

the brief

FitBit changed the fitness game with 10,000 steps to stay healthy. But the brilliant nerds at PAI Health (Formerly Mio Global) knew that 10,000 steps was a one size fits all solution that doesn’t work for everyone. 10,000 steps for me is probably not the same as 10,000 steps for Usain Bolt. Or Richard Branson.

The PAI team knew there was a better way to measure how much activity is needed to keep healthy. Using piles of data from the HUNT Study, they collated the data in a way that allowed them to create a personalized metric that relied on your heart rate rather than just the number of steps you took each day.

Your PAI score (Personal Activity Intelligence) is a metric based on your average heart rate throughout the day and it’s personalized to you, because it relies on your heart rate. It’s also scientifically proven to work because it’s backed by data in the HUNT Study.

The next step? Build the app! So that’s what we did.
